Directions to the Board Office
From the Northeast (Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown)

Following are written directions to the Board office, designed for persons who are unfamiliar with downtown Columbus.

Here are some general traffic hints for downtown Columbus travel:
1. Broad Street traffic travels in both directions.
2. Third Street traffic travels one way south.
3. State Street traffic travels in both directions east of High Street, and one way west between High Street and Front Street.
4. Front Street traffic travels one way north.
5. Main Street traffic travels one way east.
6. Rich Street traffic travels one way west.
7. Long Street traffic travels one way east.
8. High Street traffic travels in both directions.
9. Fourth Street traffic travels one way north.

DESTINATIONS

State Underground Parking Garage:
1. Take I-71 South to Broad Street exit. (South of Route 161 exit on I-71, take right lane of I-71 to Broad Street exit-lane change required after I-670 exit).
2. Turn right on Broad Street, and proceed on Broad Street (left lane) past Washington Street, Grant Avenue, and Fourth Street to Third Street.
3. Turn left on Third Street. State Underground Parking Garage is on the right side of Third Street.
NOTE: An underground walkway connects the State Underground Parking Garage with the Vern Riffe Center.

Vern Riffe Center Parking Garage:
1. Follow directions #1-#3 above for the State Underground Parking Garage.
2. Take Third Street past the State Underground Parking Garage to State Street.
3. Turn right on State Street, and proceed on State Street (left lane) past High Street to Front Street.
4. Turn right on Front Street, and turn right again into Vern Riffe Center Parking Garage.
NOTE: Parking meters are also located on State Street between High Street and Front Street.

City Center Mall:
1. Take I-71 South to the Main Street exit (South of I-270 east exit on I-71, take right lane of I-71 to Main Street exit-no lane change required).
2. Take the Main Street exit ramp (left lane) straight through the Main Street traffic light. The through street curves to the west and becomes Rich Street. Proceed on Rich Street (left lane) past Washington Street, Grant Avenue, Fourth Street, and Third Street to the Columbus City Center parking garage.
3. Turn left into the garage and park either on Garage Level 3 or Garage Level 4.
4. Walk through the Rich street breezeway (from Garage Level 3 or Garage Level 4) to the City Center Mall (Mall Level 3).
5. Walk through the City Center Mall and proceed to Mall Level 2. Mall Level 2 is accessible by elevator (center of the mall) or escalator (Near Rich Street breezeway entrance and at west end of Mall Level 3).
6. The west mall exit on Mall Level 2 is High Street.
7. Walk north on High Street to State Street. 77 South High Street is on opposite corner.

Directions back to I-71 North

From Third Street (State Underground):
1. Turn right on Third Street, and proceed on Third Street (right lane) to State Street.
2. Turn right on State Street, and proceed on State Street (left lane) to High Street.
3. Turn right on High Street, and proceed on High Street (right lane) past State Street, Broad Street, and Gay Street to Long Street.
4. Turn right on Long Street, and proceed on Long Street (left lane) past Third Street, Fourth Street, Grant Avenue, and Washington Street to I-71 North exit.
5. Proceed on I-71 North exit ramp. No merge for on-ramp traffic is necessary.

From State Street (State Underground):
1. Turn right on State Street, and proceed on State Street (left lane) to High Street.
2. Turn right on High Street, and proceed on High Street (right lane) past State Street, Broad Street, and Gay Street to Long Street.
3. Turn right on Long Street, and proceed on Long Street (left lane) past Third Street, Fourth Street, Grant Avenue, and Washington Street to I-71 North exit.
4. Proceed on I-71 North exit ramp. No merge for on-ramp traffic is necessary.

From Front Street (Vern Riffe Center):
1. Turn right on Front Street, and proceed on Front Street (right lane) past Broad Street and Gay Street to Long Street.
2. Turn right on Long Street, and proceed on Long Street (left lane) past High Street, Third Street, Fourth Street, Grant Avenue, and Washington Street to the I-71 North exit.
3. Proceed on I-71 North exit ramp. No merge for on-ramp traffic is necessary.

From Rich Street (City Center Mall):
1. Turn left on Rich Street, and proceed on Rich Street (right lane) to High Street.
2. Turn right on High Street, and proceed on High Street (right lane) past Town Street, State Street, Broad Street, and Gay Street to Long Street.
3. Turn right on Long Street, and proceed on Long Street (left lane) past Third Street, Fourth Street, Grant Avenue, and Washington Street to I-71 North exit.
4. Proceed on I-71 North exit ramp. No merge for on-ramp traffic is necessary.

From Main Street (City Center Mall):
1. Turn left on Main Street, and proceed on Main Street (left lane) past Third Street to Fourth Street.
2. Turn left on Fourth Street, and proceed on Fourth Street (right lane) past Rich Street, Town Street, State Street, Broad Street, and Gay Street to Long Street.
3. Turn right on Long Street, and proceed on Long Street (left lane) past Grant Avenue and Washington Street to I-71 North exit.
4. Proceed on I-71 North exit ramp. No merge for on-ramp traffic is necessary.

NOTE: The terms "right lane" and "left lane" refer, normally, to the second to right lane and second to left lane, respectively. The leftmost and rightmost lanes of one-way streets in downtown Columbus are normally reserved for parking during non-peak traffic hours (9 AM to 4 PM).
